Wild Cards Available For North American Competitors At Eventing World Cup Final In Pau, France

Jack Le Goff, Chairman of the FEI World Cup Committee announced that a limited number of wild cards are available for the inaugural Eventing World Cup Final in Pau, France, October 22-26. If you were unable to qualify your horse at one of the CIC*** World Cup Qualifiers held in the U.S. this year, pursuant to the FEI Eventing World Cup Rules, you may be able to obtain a wild card if you and your horse are qualified three-star competitors.

Due to the date conflict with the Pan American Games Three-Day Event the qualified U.S. horses and riders with the highest points may not be able to travel to France for the World Cup Final as previously hoped, so it is possible that spots will open up. The U.S. is allowed to send five horses and riders to Pau and if you would like to be considered for a wild card spot you must apply no later than September 2. The last qualifier takes place at the end of August and all nations must submit their entry list to the FEI immediately following that competition. Please contact Torri Nahorniak, Sport Manager of Eventing, at USA Equestrian at 859-225-2027 or via email at tnahorniak@equestrian.org. If you need your competition record to verify your advanced level results please contact Sharon Gallagher or Leslie Kearns at the USEA, 703-779-0440 ext. 3005 or 3006 respectively. You can also email Sharon@useventing.com or Leslie@useventing.com.

Canadian Riders please contact Fleur Tipton, Director of Eventing, Equine Canada, (613)248-3433.
