Show Jumping - New Stars Take Centre Stage in Amsterdam

The CSI* in Amsterdam brought together the very best in the world of show jumping, and it was a masterclass in equestrian excellence!

From the young to the seasoned, riders showcased their prowess. The Dutch rider, Janika Sprunger, continues to make waves on her formidable steed, Vivaldi du Seigneur, and this time was no different. She stormed through the Grand Prix to secure a remarkable victory.

Yet, amidst the experienced competitors, a new generation is emerging, making its mark. Young American star, Laura Kraut, showed everyone she's not just here to make a splash, she's here to stay. She rode with a confident composure on her remarkable horse, Fleur de l’Aube, securing a commendable third-place finish!

Dressage - World Equestrian Games: A Global Showcase of Expertise

With the World Equestrian Games looming, the dressage world is buzzing with anticipation. Held every four years, the WEG is the ultimate competition, where the world's best riders come together to demonstrate the highest levels of harmony and finesse with their horses.

We've been talking to some of the riders vying for glory. One name that has repeatedly been whispered with awe and respect is Anky van Grunsven. She, along with her loyal steed, Salinero, are a force to be reckoned with. Having been on top for years, she’s an inspiration to her fellow riders and is a firm favourite to claim victory.

However, Anky has a new rival to contend with - Isabell Werth. Isabell is considered to be one of the rising stars of the dressage world. With her elegant riding style and remarkable connection with her horse, Satchmo, she's more than ready to take the title. The competition between these two is sure to be electrifying, a battle of titans on the global stage!

Racing - A Whirlwind of Thrill and Unexpected Twists

From the fast tracks of Kentucky to the green pastures of Ireland, the racing scene has been filled with exciting clashes!

Kentucky Derby Week brought together some of the best in thoroughbred racing, and it didn't disappoint! The Preakness Stakes, one of the legs of the Triple Crown, proved to be particularly dramatic. In a race filled with twists and turns, the top contender, Skip’s Star, lost its stride, falling dramatically behind! Instead, it was the plucky underdog, Rapture, that stole the limelight.

And then, on the other side of the world, the Irish racing scene witnessed an equally surprising victory at the Irish Derby. The seemingly quiet contender, Midnight Flyer, outpaced all others in a sensational performance! This win has sparked much conversation about the potential future of this incredible horse!

Eventing - Burghley Horse Trials - A True Test of Mettle and Courage

The Burghley Horse Trials - held at Burghley House in Lincolnshire - is widely considered to be the ultimate test for horse and rider in the world of eventing. The competition demands courage, athleticism, and endurance!

The 2014 event was a true showcase of this remarkable sport. The sheer bravery on display, as riders take on the challenging cross-country course, is inspiring! In the end, it was the highly skilled British pair, William Fox-Pitt and Cool Frontier, who rode their way to a well-deserved win.

This was not the first triumph for William Fox-Pitt at Burghley. He has been winning at this esteemed competition for years, and once again he proved why he's regarded as one of the most respected figures in the sport!
