However, the overall team gold went to the Netherlands, led by Olympic champion, Edward Gal, with the German team settling for silver.
**United Kingdom: The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials are in full swing, with crowds finally returning after the restrictions of last year. This is always a thrilling event, testing horse and rider partnerships to their absolute limits across the demanding cross-country course. As of this morning, British rider Piggy March currently leads the competition on Vanir Kamira. With two days of competition remaining, however, everything could still change.
**Spain: The Spanish Riding School has announced the opening of its brand-new breeding program. Focused on breeding quality Lipizzaner horses, this project will preserve the iconic bloodlines and ensure a sustainable future for this unique breed. The program also includes partnerships with universities, working to ensure both scientific and practical approaches to maintaining this stunning equine lineage.
**Americas:
**Canada: The Spruce Meadows “Masters” tournament, considered one of the most prestigious equestrian events in North America, kicks off this week. With a strong international field competing across disciplines including show jumping and dressage, we can expect some fantastic sporting moments and record-breaking performances. This year's tournament is particularly important as it also serves as a qualifier for the prestigious World Championship.
**United States: The US Equestrian Federation announced the team selection for the upcoming World Equestrian Games in Herning, Denmark.
